In 1980, a small group of hospice workers gathered together in the living room of a suburban Chicago home to discuss issues arising about hospice care. They shared their expertise with one another, each member having been trained in different schools of thought and specialties. The Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (IL-HPCO) was born out of this exchange of ideas, and today, IL-HPCO is the state’s professional organization which is committed to promoting palliative and enhancing end-of-life care in the state of Illinois, through education, advocacy, technical and supportive services. Our mission is to expand access to exceptional hospice and palliative care for patients and families coping with the close of life experience.
Please help IL-HPCO continue to provide information, training, and professional development for the field of hospice and palliative care. Make a fully tax-deductible donation to support IL-HPCO programs that will benefit you and your profession.
